CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
scsi: target: Fix recursive locking in __configfs_open_file()
In flush_write_buffer, &p->frag_sem is acquired and then the loaded store
function is called, which, here, is target_core_item_dbroot_store(). This
function called filp_open(), following which these functions were called
(in reverse order), according to the call trace:
down_read
__configfs_open_file
do_dentry_open
vfs_open
do_open
path_openat
do_filp_open
file_open_name
filp_open
target_core_item_dbroot_store
flush_write_buffer
configfs_write_iter
target_core_item_dbroot_store() tries to validate the new file path by
trying to open the file path provided to it; however, in this case, the bug
report shows:
db_root: not a directory: /sys/kernel/config/target/dbroot
indicating that the same configfs file was tried to be opened, on which it
is currently working on. Thus, it is trying to acquire frag_sem semaphore
of the same file of which it already holds the semaphore obtained in
flush_write_buffer(), leading to acquiring the semaphore in a nested manner
and a possibility of recursive locking.
Fix this by modifying target_core_item_dbroot_store() to use kern_path()
instead of filp_open() to avoid opening the file using filesystem-specific
function __configfs_open_file(), and further modifying it to make this fix
compatible. |

| T.38 dissector crash in Wireshark 4.2.0 to 4.0.3 and 4.0.0 to 4.0.13 allows denial of service via packet injection or crafted capture file |
| Memory handling issue in editcap could cause denial of service via crafted capture file |
| An authentication weakness was identified in Omada Controllers, Gateways and Access Points, controller-device adoption due to improper handling of random values. Exploitation requires advanced network positioning and allows an attacker to intercept adoption traffic and forge valid authentication through offline precomputation, potentially exposing sensitive information and compromising confidentiality. |
| Insufficient validation of untrusted input in ANGLE and GPU in Google Chrome prior to 138.0.7204.157 allowed a remote attacker to potentially perform a sandbox escape via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: High) |

| An issue in Horizon Business Services Inc. Caterease 16.0.1.1663 through 24.0.1.2405 and possibly later versions, allows a remote attacker to perform a Rainbow Table Password cracking attack due to the use of one-way hashes without salts when storing user passwords. |
| Dell PowerScale OneFS Versions 8.2.2.x through 9.8.0.x contain an improper resource unlocking vulnerability. A remote low privileged attacker could potentially exploit this vulnerability, leading to denial of service. |
| Release of invalid pointer or reference in Microsoft Office Excel allows an unauthorized attacker to execute code locally. |
| lib.rs in the trailer crate through 0.1.2 for Rust mishandles allocating with a size of zero. |
| In the spiral-rs crate 0.2.0 for Rust, allocation can be attempted for a ZST (zero-sized type). |
| Release of Invalid Pointer or Reference vulnerability was discovered inĀ fs/inode/fs_inoderemoveĀ code of the Apache NuttX RTOS that allowed root filesystem inode removal leading to a debug assert trigger (that is disabled by default), NULL pointer dereference (handled differently depending on the target architecture), or in general, a Denial of Service.
This issue affects Apache NuttX RTOS: from 10.0.0 before 12.10.0.
Users of filesystem based services with write access that were exposed over the network (i.e. FTP) are affected and recommended to upgrade to version 12.10.0 that fixes the issue. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
crypto: stm32/cryp - call finalize with bh disabled
The finalize operation in interrupt mode produce a produces a spinlock
recursion warning. The reason is the fact that BH must be disabled
during this process. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ftrace: Fix NULL pointer dereference in is_ftrace_trampoline when ftrace is dead
ftrace_startup does not remove ops from ftrace_ops_list when
ftrace_startup_enable fails:
register_ftrace_function
ftrace_startup
__register_ftrace_function
...
add_ftrace_ops(&ftrace_ops_list, ops)
...
...
ftrace_startup_enable // if ftrace failed to modify, ftrace_disabled is set to 1
...
return 0 // ops is in the ftrace_ops_list.
When ftrace_disabled = 1, unregister_ftrace_function simply returns without doing anything:
unregister_ftrace_function
ftrace_shutdown
if (unlikely(ftrace_disabled))
return -ENODEV; // return here, __unregister_ftrace_function is not executed,
// as a result, ops is still in the ftrace_ops_list
__unregister_ftrace_function
...
If ops is dynamically allocated, it will be free later, in this case,
is_ftrace_trampoline accesses NULL pointer:
is_ftrace_trampoline
ftrace_ops_trampoline
do_for_each_ftrace_op(op, ftrace_ops_list) // OOPS! op may be NULL!
